Overall:
From its clean, facile user interface to its friendly customer service staff, affiliating with DentalPlans.com is a pleasure. Their products and their corporate reputation are beyond reproach, giving you the confidence that any customers you send them will be well taken care of. Also, because they sell discount plan dental insurance to the Internet shopper (who is usually extremely price conscious), they make lots of sales--and you make lots of cuts of those sales.
Ease of Use:
The DentalPlans.com affiliate program is easy to understand and easy to join. With free banners, text links, and landing pages, DentalPlans.com gives affiliates great good tools on the front end, but their back end technology, especially the commission reporting system, could be even stronger. All around, the DentalPlans.com affiliate marketing program is, simultaneously, one of the easiest systems to learn and one of the most powerful. But it's not all about technology. The affiliate managers at DentalPlans.com can do a lot for you, too.
Reputation/Security:
It's always a good sign when you see the physical address for the company headquarters on the front page of the website, and this is no exception to that rule. DentalPlans.com maintains a high level of security and integrity in everything they do. They've been on the Web since 1999 and work with major insurance providers such as Aetna and GE. If you plug "dental plans" into Google, they're the #1 search result--that should tell you something.
Customer Service:
DentalPlans.com makes a vast amount of money from its affiliate program. At the same time, they exhibit a corporate culture based largely on the idea of partnership. These two factors combine nicely in the DentalPlans.com customer service department, which is very attentive to their affiliate members. With a dedicated affiliate manager and helpful knowledgeable reps reachable by phone, email, and live chat, we see nothing to complain about here (it's even possible to get a response on weekends and holidays). In fact, we see many things that other affiliate programs should emulate ASAP.
Commission Rate:
DentalPlans.com pays its affiliates a flat fee of $40 per plan purchased. After your first sale, the rate will automatically jump to $45. If you are a consistent performer, those payments can add up quickly, and you should feel free to contact your affiliate manager to seek a higher commission (commissions are regularly bumped up to $50; the criteria for having this granted is a bit murky). DentalPlans.com also benefits from the fact that it offers discount plans that are often only available at DentalPlans.com. Because online shoppers are such notorious bargain hunters, low prices mean more sales, which mean more $40 payments entering your bank account. If you send them traffic, they'll do the rest.
Ease of Commission Payment:
DentalPlans.com encourages its affiliates to use our favorite technique of payment: direct deposit. No PayPal fees, no waiting on the mailbox. They pay monthly, but if you have money in your account and want it now, you can contact customer service and in many cases they'll send it direct deposit today. DentalPlans.com treats its affiliates with a high degree of trust. Note, however, that before they pay you anything, you must submit a W-9 form, for the IRS.
