Overall:
MochaHost is one of the top companies in the web hosting industry, highly ranked by technology pundits and award-winning. As an affiliate, you can be confident that you are promoting a quality product. Based out of Silicon Valley, MochaHost is not as reliant as affiliate marketing as some of their competitors, but their affiliate center is easy to use and powerful. In terms of numbers, the initial commission is 50% of each sale, and they give you $10 just for signing up.
Ease of Use:
The MochaHost affiliate center is a slick piece of software that doesn't look complex but is definitely extremely powerful. Similar to a site like Craigslist, the power is in the simplicity. From the front page, you can go anywhere you want, keeping it as simple or taking as deep into data analysis as you want. We love using this system. Try it. You will too.
Reputation/Security:
MochaHost has received numerous accolades in recognition of the quality of its products. Based out Silicon Valley, MochaHost strives to beat the competition by offering better products at lower prices. Their 99.9% uptime guarantee shows you how seriously they believe in their services. It's always dangerous, as an affiliate, to promote a company whose products you do not personally endorse. MochaHost is a good option because you won't have that problem.
Customer Service:
This is the one area where MochaHost needs improvement when it comes to dealing with affiliates. Their "Contact Us" button, for example, when you click on it, is one of those deals that immediately pops up an Outlook email box. And not even a personalized email for affiliates, but a general support@mochahost.com. They're extremely responsive to emails and their customer service people are smarter than most, so the system works decently, but we'd appreciate a readily available phone number, or at least an email just for affiliates.
Commission Rate:
MochaHost bases its commissions on the percentage model, rather than paying a set amount for each sale. Meanwhile, they give you $10 just for signing up. From there, you start out at 50% of each first tier sale. For customers that purchase the standard web hosting account package for one year, that works out to about $60 per sale. You also receive 10% commission on all second tier sales, meaning any sales generated by other webmasters you refer to Mochahost. The percentage system can be nice when customers buy less extensive products, such as domain names. A lot of programs won't pay you for those smaller hits.
Ease of Commission Payment:
MochaHost pays on the first of every month for the previous month's sales. They encourage affiliate partners to accept PayPal, and we would expect nothing less of a company located in Silicon Valley. However, if you don't want to use PayPal because of the transaction fee, MochaHost will send you a paper check as well. And they'll do it on time, every month.
